It s also a mixed income community in which 30 of the 60 studio apartments are designated for individuals who may not have experienced homelessness but whose incomes are 50 percent or less of the area median income.. The 360 square foot furnished units include kitchenettes, bathrooms, living areas and closets. The building has offices for staff and a community room with a kitchen.. Amenities include an outdoor patio, laundry facilities, fitness room, computer room and front desk that is staffed 16 hours each day.. VSH offers on site supportive services through case managers who help residents stabilize, reclaim their lives and retain their housing.. Residents of The Crossings are within walking distance to the central business district, the University of Virginia and the Downtown Mall as well as several community health and support facilities.. Thanks to support from the City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County as well as many community partners and state funding sources The Crossings successfully fulfills a regional solution to homelessness..
