Phoenix radio personality W Steven Martin began a toy drive after hundreds of his listeners made requests for help during Christmas time. He enlisted the help of local law enforcement officers to distribute the gifts across the valley to hundreds of children. His thought was that the kids would have the chance to see law enforcement, "in a new light, one of giving and caring, that bonds would be formed between law enforcement and the tiniest victims of crime and poverty, thus helping to break the cycle of hate and fear that seemed to exist".

Residents should ring the doorbell located near the main entrance of the fire station. No appointment is necessary. There will be times when the firefighters will be out of the station. If the crew is away from the station, check back at a later time or try another station.
